The ceremony was simple but grand. The Chairman reviewed the work and achievements of the Association in the past year:
- Since its launch in early 2007, the "Natural Fei Cei Quality Mark" Scheme jointly organized by the Hong Kong Jewellers & Goldsmiths Association and the Kowloon Pearl Precious Stone, Jade, Gold and Silver Ornament Merchants Association has accredited over 200 merchants, comparing to only 151 at the beginning. To further publicize the scheme, promotion has been implemented on TVB, ATV and bus advertisements since end of last year, promoting that shops with the "Natural Fei Cei Quality Mark" sell only the natural Jade.
- The award ceremony of the 13th Chuk Kam Jewellery Design Competition 2010 was held on 5 March. 22 winning designs were displayed in the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show in March.
- The promotion campaign for the "Quality Gold Mark 2010" was launched through TVB, ATV, and bus advertising earlier this year.
- The Association continued its efforts to act as an issuing body of the ¡§No Fake Pledge¡¨ coordinated by the Intellectual Property Department.
- In addition, the Association also continued with its work on spot checking of the Recommend Genuine Gold Suppliers and the Recommend Suppliers Scheme.
